Getting started with Praxix

From download to your first curated Claude Code session in about ten minutes. Two things up front: Praxix runs on Apple Silicon Macs, and it drives the official Claude Code CLI — so the CLI needs to exist and be signed in before Praxix can work.

1 — Before you install: Claude Code itself

Praxix is an orchestrator, not a replacement: every session it launches is the official claude CLI running under your own Anthropic account. Install Claude Code from Anthropic’s setup guide if you haven’t, then run it once in a terminal and complete the sign-in if it prompts you. Praxix never sees or stores your Anthropic credentials — the CLI reads its own.

2 — Install Praxix

Download the DMG, open it, and drag Praxix to Applications. The app is signed and notarized, so Gatekeeper lets it straight through — no right-click ritual. On first launch, Praxix sets up its local database and opens the onboarding wizard.

3 — The wizard checks your setup

The wizard verifies it can find the claude CLI. Green means you’re through. Red means Claude Code isn’t installed or isn’t on your PATH — the message includes the install command and a link, and the Re-check button re-tests after you’ve fixed it. One thing the check can’t see: whether you’re signed in. If you skipped step 1, your first session will tell you.

4 — Build a small library

Point Praxix at a repository you work in, then add a piece or two of context: a rule you always want followed, a reference document worth having on tap, a note about the current state of the project. Don’t aim for complete — the library grows naturally as you work. Save a preset for the combination you expect to use most.

5 — Run your first session

Compose a session: pick the repo and the context pieces, and look at the preview — that’s exactly what your agent will know, visible before you spend a token. Launch, and work with Claude Code as usual, now with the context you chose. You can stage more context mid-session if the task turns a corner; it’s delivered live.

6 — Optional: pair your phone

If you want to supervise sessions away from the desk, open Praxix Remote pairing on the desktop and scan the QR code with your iPhone. Pairing is once; the connection is end-to-end encrypted. From then on, sessions stream to your phone, and push notifications tell you when one needs an answer.
